Welcome to the VMware community forums.
No, you won't have to run a tool to migrate the virtual machine in order to be able to boot them.

I'm not entirely sure what you mean by "it won't launch" as it could mean a number of things.
Please attach the vmware.log file found in the folder of one of the virtual machines it doesn't want to run.
