vSphere Client - Port 903

Hello!

I've a test enviromet with 2 x ESX 4 Server and a vCenter Server. I connect with the vClient to the vCenter Server over a VPN tunnel. When I start the console of a VM, I become the error message "Unable to connect to the MKS: ..... :903.

From the PC with the vClient I can connect over telnet to Port 902, Port 903 doesn't work.

From the vCenter Server I can connect over telnet to Port 902 and 903.

All traffic on VPN will forward. What can I do do correct the problem? Hope you have some ideas.

The firewall on the vCenter server is disabled. It doesn't work ,when I try to connect from a other PCin our network. I've tested 3 PCs.

Have you tried restarting the network service?

service network restart

This won't disrupt the VMs - only vswif0

If that doesn't resolve the issue verify your IP settings.. (Subnet Mask/Default Gateway)

Thanks for your reply.

I've repaired the problem. I insert in the /etc/vmware/config the value vmauthd.server.alwaysProxy="TRUE"

Now, it works.

I had the same issue after migrating all of my physical NICs to a Nexus 1000v and restarting the network service resolved the issue.

root@localhost#:> service network restart
