I have Workstation 7 running on a Win7 64-bit host with host resolution set to 1920x1200. I installed Win2008 R2 as a guest for testing purposes - all is well except I can't view the VM in 'full-screen' mode. I just get a black display. The mouse cursor is active and the cursor does track as I move the mouse. Just can't see anything else on the screen. If I exit full-screen mode, the display comes back 'on'.

Looks like it's a problem running at that particular resolution, but that's just a guess. XP and Win2k both work in full-screen mode without any problems. Any ideas?

Thanks!
Mark

I assume you've installed Tools in the guest?

If you enable View > Autofit Guest, disable View > Tabs, and enter Quick Switch mode, do you have the same problem? What about if from within the guest you go to Control Panel > Display > Settings and change the resolution to 1920x1200 manually?

You are not alone. I get exactly the same problem.

Seems like a problem with guest video ram. Did you have 3D acceleration enabled in your VM? You can check that from UI -> VM -> Settings -> Display

Thanks.

That fixed it for me as well. Checked some vista and 7 guests and they all had this option ticked by default.
