I have an iMac core 2 duo with 4 gigs of RAM, running OS 10.6.1. I upgraded from Fusion 2.x to 3. I am using Windows XP sp3 in Fusion. I never had any problems with Fusion 2 (even with 2.0). With Fusion 3, startup is very slow. If I suspended and quit in Unity, I always get a message that Unity failed to start and have to wait for it to get going. Once or twice I could not get Fusion to do a normal shutdown. Sometimes the Windows application seems to "lose" the mouse—that is, mouse actions get no response. The workaround is to command-tab to a Mac window, move the mouse a little, and then go back to the Windows app. This is of course a little annoying. I suppose I will need to wait until Snow Leopard and Fusion are upgraded. Meanwhile, is the best course to take to always shut down Windows rather than suspend it before quitting Fusion? I hate to have to do that, because that, too, just slows down the whole startup process. Any other suggestions or similar experiences?
