I am running Fusion 2.06 and built a Win 7 Pro image selecting Windows Server 2008 as the OS. In upgrading to v3, will I get the best results creating a new image using the correct OS selection or is there some other way to migrate? Or will it not make any difference and can I jsut use the existing image?

Thanks,

Perry

1) Uninstall your existing VMware Tools and then shut down the VM
2) Change your OS type to Windows 7 from Server 2008
3) Power on the VM
4) Install VMware Tools from the virtual machine menu and restart

You should be good!

I've done exactly this and for the most part things are okay.

The biggest issues I'm having is the incessant screen flickers and spastic mouse jumpiness in a dual monitor full screen setup (extra monitor above notebook). It's almost unusable :( I'm not convinced it has to do with the upgrade, but I'm not sure what it could be. I'm using Win7 VMs on OS X Snow Leapard (very new MacBookPro unibody).

I'd love to hear some suggestions if you have any.

Thanks,
Don
