I understand that you have to take the Qualification Skills Review in order to take the Enterprise admin exam. What kind of questions are asked in this. Is it a pre-req exam of some sort? How do they decide if you get the "invite" to take the exam?

You get asked what involvement you have already had with designs on VMware deployments. Quite what the "selection criteria" are for the invitation for VCDX following completion of the review I don't know.

The Qualification Skills Review is the first step for the certification process but also a way for you to know if you have the knowledge to do the certification. Of you answer is NO, think before begin the certification process because you will be evaluate on all of those criteria.

OK so I guess my next question would be if I go through the skills review to start down the road, and I do not get an invite, but later (after having more experience) will I be able to "apply" again?

Yes. You can take the rewiev several time.
But take it once, and wait a 3-4 week before take it again ;)

yes you can take it multiple times. but if you don't "pass" the skill review you might want to reconsider if the VCDX program fits your profile.
