Hi

I'm wondering if Manage Availability class can subsitute for Install, Configure, and Manage class? Before, I think you can take any class and take the exam. Is that still true?

Thanks,

Hi all,

The MA class is not a substitute for ICM. In terms of the exam requirement, you can take ICM, Fast Track or (coming soon) the Advanced course. The Advanced course will include the MA content, but will be at the same time and price point as ICM. The advantage for the Advanced course will be if you already have a strong background and are looking to fulfill the course requirement, there will be an option to take some content that might be more what you would be looking for.

No... ICM and Fast Track still remain in vSphere.

Only Deploy, Secure and Analyze does not exist on v4...
Instead of this course there are several 1 day course like: Manage Availability, Manage Scalability, and maybe new course.

There is also a new course (VMware vSphere: Troubleshooting V4) but is a 4 days lenght...

Hi Andre,

The plan is for some of those 1-2 day courses to be "bundled" together into the Advanced course that Jon mentioned in his reply. I don't expect this to happen until into Q1 2010, as some of the individual courses that will make up this Advanced course are not due for release until then. From Jon's reply, it sounds like this Advanced course will also qualify you for VCP4.

Scott.
