My pc crashed and rebooted while I had VM runnig, now when i go to start up the same VM again it gives me an error message saying..

"Cannot open the disk .... or one of the snapshot disks it depends on... reason: Failed to lock the file."

what does this mean and how can i fix it to get back into my VM...??

Yes, you will have to delete all the .lck files. These files are created when a VM is powered on so as to prevent another user/instance of a workstation to power-on the same VM. One .lck is created each for .vmx, .vmdk and .vmem.

Its a marker to show its in use. Delete them, its fine.. if you cant delete them, somethings using them, eg its running in background - but you'd know that so go ahead.
