Hi all

I was wondering if you could help me. I know the Design Course is slowly being replaced with the vSphere 4 version, however I am on the road to do the Design Exam, and I would like to attend this course. It tells me it is not a pre-req but I still want to go, just to keep me up to date and such.

I have looked online, and I can see the number of dates getting shorter and shorter, however everyone I have emailed about it have not got back to me (the companies running the courses, vcdx@vmware, etc etc). There is only one online course left, however I would like to try and get this course done with a trainer.

Is there anyone can point me in the right direction of any emails I can try, phone numbers etc?

Thanks

Colin

The VMware Design course does not cover most of the VCDX Design exam questions...
If could be usefull, but remember to study also the material from Admin exam (cause most concept are take also from there).

So don't worry... if you do not find a VMware Design 3 course, take the v4 one (probablly it could be useful to VMware partner competency).

I agree. The VMware Design course does not cover most of the VCDX Design exam questions... Hands-on and real world experience is also very important.

I am waiting for authorization for Design exam too (2. shot). Could you please update the forum when you get authorization email?

Design course does not give any definitive answers to design decisions, only guidelines. Different environments need different design decisions. The same are the exam questions.

I am working on Design Exam guide which is not only links to different VMware PDF documents. I hope I can share it with other test takers in near future.

The vSphere Design course is due to be released in Q1 2010, that will be why you see the number of VI3 Design courses reducing all the time....

As others have said, it is not compulsory, but can still be helpful with the Design exam. The vSphere version of the Enterprise Administration exam, and Design exam, are currently in development - no release date for them yet, or news on the "upgrade" process to get to VCDX4 for those at the various stages through VCDX3...
