Weird behaviour with multi-monitors on Fusion 3

I have 2 screens located one 'on top' of the other - everything on the 'top' (main) screen works perfectly.

When I drag a window to the bottom screen, it moves very, very slowly - and when I try click on something on the bottom screen, it seems my cursor is actually way off where it's supposed to be - it doesn't seem to be simply transposed someplace else, moving my mouse over the same spot highlights random buttons on toolbars, etc.

May be a duplicate of http://communities.vmware.com/thread/238999?tstart=0 - but my second screen 'works', it just doesn't take mouse input properly.

I've been talking to tech support about this; nothing yet.

This is on Mac OS 10.6.1, with Windows XP - I've removed and reinstalled the VMWare tools twice.

My monitor is attached via DVI; the 'top' monitor is 1920x1200 and my 'bottom' screen is 1680x1050 - changing the arrangement doesn't do anything though, nor does switching primary/secondary.

This is a 17" MacBookPro4,1 with a 512MB GeForce 8600M GT.

I've sorted this out now -- a complete removal of the Fusion tools as well as clearing all VMWare-related drivers out of c:\windows\system32\drivers - followed by a restart and then complete re-install.
