Hi,

I am running VMware Workstation 6.5.2 under Win2K3 on a system that has an AMD Athlon 64 X2 5200.

I've enabled Replay in the settings, but when I click Replay->Record, I get a popup:

"Record/Replay is not supported on your processor."

Is it not possible to get Record/Replay to work with this OS/CPU combination?

Thanks,

Jim

Hi ohaya ,

Please check the Virtualization option and enable it on your AMD Athlon 64 X2 5200 system BIOS

and try Record/Replay in worktation 6.5.

Hello Ohaya. On AMD CPUs, Record/Replay is supported with Barcelona family only. The Athlon 64 X2 belongs to earlier generation of AMD CPUs and is not supported.

Hi ohaya,

I have the same setup with AM2 socket mother board with AMD Phenom triple core 8650 model processor

I have tested Record and replay and it is working fine:8}

Also give the details of your MSI mother board (model number and series)

refer the screen shot for the setting changes need to be done for record and replay

if it is helpful please provide points

Hi,

some one know if core 2 duo T6570 supports this feature of record/relay?

Is there any list of processors supported?

Hi, cstrieder. Replay debugging works with any processor that is record/replay capable. What processors are record replay capable? I think you'll find some text like the following in the VMware Workstation Manual...

"Record/replay support is limited to certain processors on the host. If you use the record/replay feature on a host computer that does not have a supported processor, when you enable the record/replay feature and power on the virtual machine, a message appears, informing you that recording is not supported on your processor. Supported processors include Intel Pentium 4, Intel Core 2 and later versions, AMD Barcelona and later versions, Next‐Generation Intel Microarchitecture ‐ Nehalem, and Penryn/Harpertown. Other processors might operate more slowly during recording and replaying."
