I have not been able to create an automated desktop pool on my View 3.1.0, view composer 1.1.0. I was able to go into view administrator / configuration / servers and add the server IP, domainname.local/administrator account and select verify Composer compatability. I was able to add the Virtual Center (where the composer is installed) server and enable the server. I am able to launch and work through the add automated pool process until I get to the final page where quickprep is looking for a domain on a drop-down list and the list is empty. I can push through the menu by changing the CN but receive an error:

View Composer error: Invalid value for parameter policy.AdConfigId passed to View Composer function, Error type: com.vmware.SviService.InvalidParameterFault, Details: null

I believe that I have DNS & DHCP functioning on a domain controller which is configured as domain.local. All my servers have a static address. I do have the domain admin account fully qualified under View Administrator / configuration / administrators. My browsing seems to work well between servers. i am able to create single desktops to share.

Any help in resolving this would be appreciated.

are you able to ping your domain "domain.local" from vCenter and vManager?

I have seen this in my environment and was able to resolve it by rebooting the connection broker (View) server.

OK, so just to verify, under Configuration -> Servers -> Virtual Center Servers -> View Composer Settings in addition to having the vCenter server listed you have your domain admin account listed under "Quick Prep Domains".
