I have a VM which is allocated 2 CPUs ( edit settings and show 2 CPU) .Within the Windows when I run system information it shows 1 CPU though in the processor section of DEvice Manager is shows the two processor.

Also when I run task manager or perf mon I see only I CPU too .Any help is appreciated to resolv the issue .

Open Device Manager in Windows and Select "Update driver" on "Uniprocessor PC". Reboot after that.
You just need to update HAL from Uniprocessor to Multiprocessor.

What VMware product and version are you using so we can move this thread to the appropriate forum?

Have you changed the HAL in the guest to use a multiprocessor one?

Thread moved to ESX 3.5 forum.

If device manager shows ACPI Multiprocessor, that's correct. You're saying it only shows 1 CPU though? Did you have the VM powered off when you added the 2nd virtual CPU?

If you already have multiprocessor HAL just power VM off and on.
