Hello to all,

I have a monitoring tool based on SNMP. This tool is currently coounicating with windows based virtual machine through the windows SNMP agent. My issue is that sometimes during the reboot, the CPU IDs change. The CPU0 become the CPU1 and the CPU1 become the CPU2. My tool has to be set with the correct CPU ID. SO, somtimes I can't monitor any more my CPU load.

I also want to be able to monitor the filling percentage of my disks, but with the Microsoft SNMP I can't.

Does anybody have a free SNMP agent for VMs ? Even if all information are not available, I would interested in any agents that is able to monitor CPU / disks and services.

Thanks in advance to anybody that would spend time on my issue.

Hello,

I would not depend on the CPUID specifically because as you notice on a reboot any physical CPU within the host can be used for a VMs vCPU. You should use something else. Also if you ever vMotion the VM the CPUID will also change.
