Hi All,

One of my Virtual machine's CPU usage alarm always shows Red. when i checked on VI graph and windows task manager on that VM The Cpu usage is always minimum. Could anyone have any idea whats causing this ?

Maybe you have a limit setup?Go to the setting of the resource pool the machine is a part of and check. or there isn't enough processing on the host machine for the cpu usage this machine is using.

Thanks for your reply, there is no limit set to anywhere, All set to Unlimited. There is half of the resourse is free on the host which the VM is hosted.

Hi Raj,


Make sure the VMWare Tools is installed upto date, if not upgrade the VMWare Tools

also please check the Trigger setting

Hi Srini,

Thanks for your reply. VMware Tools is upto date on that VM. And my trigger setting is set as :

Trigger Type : Virtual Machine CPU Usage

Condition : Is Above

%Warning : 75

%Alert : 90

((Sorry couldnt paste screen shot hope you will get it)).

So still i cant figure out whats the problem on that VM, any more suggestions ?
