ESXi 3.5 on HP Proliant DL140 G1

Is anyone running ESXi 3.5 on HP Proliant DL140 G1 ? Im having problem installing it as it sayd it cant find a suppoerted device to install . I have 2 IDE drives.

I managed to change a configuation file so that it works on IDE getting help from here :

http://www.vm-help.com/esx/esx3i/ESXi_install_to_IDE_drive/ESXi_install_to_IDE_drive.php

and it worked .. BUT it doesnt recognise the LAN cards which are on the HCL

If you access the console, what are the PCI ids for the NICs?

Thanks for the reply.What do you really mean by IDs , is it what you find by typing 'lspci' ?

I get this output :

CPU0:1024 PCI:2393 :failed for 000:15.2
CPU0:1024 PCI:2393 :failed for 002:00.0
CPU0:1024 PCI:2393 :failed for 002:00.1

CPU1:1152 Mod: 1413: Initialisation for usb-ohci failed with -19..

So you can see that its failing to load the NIC , i have tried installing another external NIC m but the same error. It does say that it has sucessfulyy loaded the drives for NICs.

Will it work with the new ESXI 3.5.4 Version ?

in the 3.5.3 it will not work, purple screen and no network

Have you found a solution for the NIC cards for the DL140 G1? I have been having the same problem, still looking for a solution. Any help would be appreciated... Thanks.
