Using NAT, Does the Host Check for Viruses? posted: Jun 16, 2009 9:46 AM

After installing a virus checker (Avast) in Guest XP64 in Host Vista 64 and using NAT, I wondered whether the Host was checking for viruses before it passed the internet data on to the Guest? That would make it unnecessary to use a virus checker in the guest --> increased performance. I doubt it but it seems worth asking. Thank you.

of course not - its just a simple NAT-service - this passes packages based on IPs - it does not inspect those packages
