hello guys,
I'm having problems syncing my new blackberry curve 8330 with windows xp on vmware. I have a macbook, the one that can run both mac os and windows os. For work, I HAVE to use windows, so I run windows xp using vmware fusion. On that windows, I run my data base, that I sync with outlook 2003, and then sync outlook with my phone.
I used to have a treo 600, and was doing fine. but with the blackberry, it is hell!
I have unistalled hotsync for palm, and downloaded blackberry Desktop Manager 4.7 on my vmware windows) side of my mac. The problem occurs when I connect the usb cable with the laptop and the blackberry. the wmare window shrinks (goes from full screen to half the screen, and the screen turns black), with an error message from vmware:
"The device "Research In Motion RIM Composite Device" was unable to connect to its ideal host controller. An attempt will be made to connect this device to the best available host controller. This may esult in an undefined behavior for this device."
I click ok.
then the screen comes back to live (no more black), and the usb picks up the device (showing up on the device manager), also showing the device connected and pin on the desktop manager (DM). On the dm, I can set up the calendar, notes, etc... for syncing (outlook sync with device or overwrites one or the other). but when i click on syncronizing button, nothing happens, no syncing happens, neither on the device nor on outlook, nor on the dm.
Most recently, I have done the following: go to the USB Devices panel of the Settings window for this virtual machine, and select Enable USB 2.0 support. still nothing...
not sure what to do next, any help would be greatly appreciated.
thanks
