I am evaluating the view product and so far am quite impressed. The only thing that is causing us a problem is setting up a security server with SSL offloading. We have a Cisco CSS 11501 switch which we use to do SSL offloading for existing websites and I want to use it to offload the view security server. I have set the locked.properties on the security server as follows:
clientProtocol=https
clientPort=443
clientHost=<EXTERNAL IP or HOSTNAME>
serverPort=80
serverProtocol=http
Some of the time the site works and I can log in and connect to a desktop, then after logging out it will stop working and I get the following error.
The connection to the vmware view server <EXTERNAL IP or HOSTNAME:443> could not be established.
Any ideas???
Do you have a Cisco VPN infrastructure? Why not drop the security server and go directly to the connection broker in the trusted network?
WP
We do have a VPN infrastructure but I would prefer to use the SSL offload from the Content Switch as I can then provide the view interface directly without users having to logon twice. The VPN option would also increase the cost of the deployment.

I have now changed the deployment around so that the security server is directly behind the content switch in a DMZ and this error still occurs occasionally but enough to prevent demonstrating the product. Has anyone tried setting up a security server with a device doing SSL offload?
