The goal is to have the meeting on the second Thursday on the odd months of the year.
I have also created a LinkedIn group as a secondary form of communication and networking. At VMWorld, it was discussed that many members can find themselves no longer receiving VMUG communcation accidently if they download a beta prodcut from VMWare and do not click 'Have VMWare contact me'. It winds up unsubscribing them from ALL VMWare related communication (including VMUG) instead of just related to the product being downloaded.
