On Weds. in the office, I can check the database. I suspect the watches are in the database, and there's just an issue sending out some of the emails. - Robert

Oh.. lot's of activity in this thread, didn't get any of the notifications on your replies Robert.. Didn't see the reply from Tom to K-Mac either..

Thanks for looking into the problem and it is good to hear that you could use the info from my feedback for tracking down the issues, that was the intention of the pm after all.

Are other people seeing their email watches working now, or just K-MaC and Barack? I've verified the email settings on our server (again), and they are correct. Please let me know. Thanks, Robert

None of the missing emails have started appearing if that's what you mean. I did get this notification, but I am not missing out on all emails, so I really cannot answer that question at all...
It did not "just" fix itself if that is what you are hoping for ;)

Unfortunately it is not fixed... I have an email notification on the Bug hunt: Extremely slow boot times thread
and I did not get the notification on message Re: Bug hunt: Extremely slow boot times
The only way I noticed it was having another reply, was because it got bumped up in the group by that reply...

If vmware virtualisation software would have the reliability of this notification forum software I would abandon it today (and that's not very good news)

Hi Robert,

I'm not sure if this is already supposed to be addressed or not (I guess not)
Just in case, here's another example of a direct reply from last night that didn't send me a notification email.

Thanks for the reminder about this, Wil. I have a fix, but it hasn't been implemented yet, because I need to schedule the deployment of the fix with our IT department.

For those interested, the root cause is a threading issue that has only affected one other Jive customer besides VMware. A shared resource is used to store the request to send the email notification, and it was getting occasionally overwritten before the notification is sent. Jive gave us patch that locks the shared resource until the message is sent.

I may need to bundle this fix with another fix that will enable some new functionality. And this is Thanksgiving week (Thursday & Friday holiday) in the US, so I may not be able to get this implemented immediately. I'll post again when the patch is live.

Thanks for the feedback and the technical explanation.
Personally I think that the few free days you guys get is more important now as rushing out this fix..
That can wait for the moment. I'm already very happy to hear that it is in the pipeline to get addressed... Woohoo!.
