Hello,
Having some network problems I Upgraded, with "VMware Infrastructure Update" from version 110271 to 120505.
Later I discovered it was probably the switch of my network (srw2008) that was giving me problems but now I changed that one I have the problem that the networkcard doesn't seem to be recognized by the 120505 ESXi.
Everything worked fine yesterday and except for the malfunctioning switch, which I replaced, and the ESXi "upgrade" nothing changed.
In "network adaptors" ESXi gives me "not connected" for fist network adaptor en "connected to Vswitch1" for second one (which seams to work according the lichts on the back of the server)
Mobo : S5000psl (Intel)
raid : Adaptec 2420
2x E5405
Could somebody help me with this?
How to "downgrade" to 110271 or finding a driver for the network card and how to install it for the newer version?
Thx to all willing to help !
TwinTuk
Some more info :
When testing network connectivity esxi doesn't find external Ip's but it does find the Ip of running vmware machine
Looking at the back of the server the leds on the second adaptor, "connected to Vswitch1" work, but the leds of the first adaptor don't do anything at all

works for me on X7DWU
~ # uname -a
VMkernel localhost.localdomain 3.5.0 #1 SMP Release build-123629 Oct 15 2008 21:03:57 i686 unknown

08:00.01 Network controller: Intel Corporation Intel(R) 82575EB Gigabit Network Connection
eth0 work fine
but on X7DBR-3, eth0 refuses to function (on esxi only, without ipmi management), only eth1 works:

were you able to get esxi 4.0 update 1 installed on the x7dbr-3?
