ESXi 3.5u2 on X7DBE motherboard

I have seen a number of posts/reports of people getting ESXi working on a Supermicro X7DBE motherboard. What's happening on mine is that the CD boots to the VMvisor/ThinESX installer screen and then hard-hangs the machine (CTRL-ALT-DEL won't work). I've stripped out all the other hardware, reset BIOS to defaults, and updated to the latest from Supermicro, all to no avail. The machine has been running Server2003 with VMware-server and I also installed RHEL5 with VMware-server, and those seem to work fine. Any ideas?

The big problem with the esxi is the compatibility with the hardware, no just the motherboard.

Check too the Hard Disks, processor and network cards in the HCL's esxi.

I got an X7 Mobo working this evening, exact same problem as you mentioned.

To solve, I disabled all the serial, paralell and FDD. Not sure which one of those fixed it - but after disabling those in BIOS, the installation got past the first boot screen and worked like a charm.
