How to install windows office and other windows programs

Hello.

I am a newbie for VMware Fusion and I have just installed Fusion and Windows XP with success. My question is how do I install office and other windows programs. It is probably a silly questions but I can not find an answer to this questions anywhere.

Best regards

Eddie

You would install them just as on a real computer, e.g. pop in the CD and run the installer (in XP, not OS X, of course).

Thank you very much. I thought it should be like this but I was afraid to mess something up. Again thank you very much.

I installed VMware Fusion 1.1.2 on my MAC and then loaded XP Pro SP2 and then loaded CorelDraw 11...everything was working great until I downloaded and installed VMware Fusion 2.0..that froze the system and I had to uninstall VMware Fusion. When I re installed VMware Fusion 2.0, and then installed XP Pro SP2...everything worked fine until I wanted to load CorelDraw 11 from the CD...Fusion doesn't "see" the CD...help...everytime I insert the CD...it always goes straight to the MAC side. I'm in the Windows program and I evan tried to use the Install feature in the Control panel...but the Windows side doesn't connect with the CD...help...

Have you tried clicking on the CD/DVD icon on the bottom right of the Fusion window and clicking 'Connect CD/DVD'? That should connect the CD/DVD to your VM. Remember to disconnect it when you've finished or you may wonder why OS X can't see it!

Just curious if at any time over the week you were hitting your head against the wall did you bother to read the documentation?

VMware Fusion menu bar > Help > VMware Fusion Help > Managing Virtual Machines > Configuring the CD/DVD Drive...

Hello,

I am trying to install Office Enterprise Edition 2007 but it keeps ejecting the dvd. I manually configured the dvd in vmware but it will not read the disk. What should I do???

I've checked the settings while the virtaul machine was powered down and made sure it is on automatically detect.

Thanks

but it keeps ejecting the dvd.

Are you say OS X is ejecting the DVD or Fusion is ejecting it?

With Fusion closed and you insert the DVD in your Mac and then if your Mac ejects it then you will need to check to see if dirty or scratched to bad and if it clean and not scratched then you will need to us a different disc or on a different system create a ISO Image of that disc or share the optical drive on another system and copy the files over to the Host or Guest.
