Time stamp bug in Vmware Workstation when copying from Host to Virtual Machine!!!!

I have a found that there is a time stamp bug in Vmware Workstation when copying from Host to Virtual Machine!!!!

I am NOT using a UNC share to copy. I am just dragging from the Host to the Virtual machine.

Here is an example:

!Correct Time Stamp.JPG!

After copying to the VMware workstation.

This is really bad because it changes all three date stamps: Created, Modified, Accessed.

The bug does not seem to exist when copying from the Virtual Machine to the host, but only when copying from the host to the virtual machine.

I don't have a support contract or anything to submit a bug with VMWare. It causes problems with the Software that replaces files only if they are newer only. Some files cannot have versions, such as text files, so newer only replaces is broken by the incorrectly updated time stamps.

That is yet another reason to not use VMware Shared Folders.

Use Windows shares instead.
