Correct display driver version?

I'm using F2B2 and I've updated the virtual hardware, and installed VMware tools. 3D Acceleration is enabled in the VM. Windows XP is showing the display adaptor as VMware SVGA II and the driver is 11.6.0.8. When I run dxdiag it doesn't show Direct3D as being supported.

When I try to start TF2 it goes past the Valve and Source splash screens and then immediately exits.

Is this the correct driver version? If not, where can I download the correct .inf file?

Thanks!

PS OS X 10.4.11 on MBP Core2 Duo with RadeonX1600.

Mine shows 11.6.0.8 as well, but on the other hand, dxdiag does show Direct3D as being supported. Maybe try uninstalling Tools, rebooting the guest once or twice, and reinstalling Tools?

VMware Tools wasn't even showing up in Add/Remove Programs. I ended up forcing it to install again and then 3D showed as supported, but running the 3D test in dxdiag caused a crash.

Strange. Is it practical for you to try reinstalling XP?

Also, note there are a number of 3D driver bugs in 10.4.11 which Apple does not plan to fix. If possible, you should use 10.5.

As I mentioned in the other thread, the dxdiag crash went away with f2.0rc1. I'll just upgrade to 10.5 as it doesn't appear that 10.4.11 is usable for 3D games in Fusion.

It seems like the release notes should mention prominently that 10.5 is recommended for the 3D features, as I wasn't able to find that any where and the requirements specifically said 10.4.11 or higher were OK.

Thanks for the tips!
