VT-d support

i was wondering if there is/will be, VT-d support in fusion 2?

sorry i know its a short question and there is the answer somewhere but i cant find how to search the forums, and a search of the general site springs up reports from 06 of how intel and vmware are working together on this, which made me hopeful perhaps fusion 2 would have it, but i cant find it.

virtual logix and xen both have support for it, i know they arent os x apps but i guess if they can do it then a company the size of vmware would be able to.

would make my next work machine purchase an easy one, finally no more dell workstations and some mac pro's.

no i didnt think there was, am using the beta but on a mbp so didnt know if perhaps the option was missing as i obv cant have a second gfx card.

anyone know if there are any plans for it in the future, having open GL hardware support direct to a card would be the absolute best thing ever ever ever and let us long suffering CAD monkey's break free from windows.

My understanding of VT-d is that it would not help in this case - you have to dedicate an entire card to a particular guest, so the only possible platform you'd see an improvement on is a Mac Pro. Note that OpenGL hardware acceleration isn't related to VT-d.

VMware policy is to not discuss unannounced features/products/timelines/etc.

i understand it uses a dedicated card, thats what i meant, i would be able to use a mac pro for CAD rather than dell workstations i currently am stuck with.

the fact the card is dedicated as if it was physically connected to the virtual machine shureley would mean you would get openGL acceleration, as the card would be directly connected to windows.
