Hi,

Fairly simple question I guess.I've downloaded the 3i Installable Version and obviously this needs to be installed first.
Following the manual, the installation only works on SCSI, SAS or SATA disk.

Previously it was possible to write the 3i image to an USB stick so you had sort of an Embedded 3i on that stick.

Question now is, can I somehow create an Embedded 3i from the Installable Version?
For testing purposes I don't want to pass on the whole installation every time. (and I don't even want to use the hard disks.)

Thanks!
Kenneth

you can dump it to USB fairly easy. Just download it, and follow the steps in this blog: http://communities.vmware.com/blogs/Knorrhane/2008/01/21/installing-esx-3i-on-usb-stick
