Useful VMware Server 2.0 technical information before, during and after installation.
You need to add the SCSI drivers via the floppy available here - press F6 when booting the XP installer to add the driver. Another way is to use IDE instead of SCSI disks in the VM but that will limit cross-product compatibility:

Hello All,
I am getting some authentication error while logging through web interface after installing VMWARE SERVER 2.0 on RHEL 5.3.
"Unexpected response from vmware-authd: 501 Global command GLOBAL server to non-host agent targets not supported"
I am seeing in the document that there should be some config change for PAM issue in Administration section point number 10.
Please let me know what config chnage needs to be done.

After following the link, now error has changed.
Permission denied: Login (username/password) incorrect
I have tried different users but it is not allowing me to login remotely. Although SSH is working fine without any problem.
When I see the /var/log/vmware-mui/error_log

i have install vmware on fc8 machine and every think is working fine .
but i am not able to install windows XP as virtual machine on linux host.
we already assign 12 GB space for XP and formatted
But when we start XP installation after some time error message pop on screen hdd not recognized .
if some body have done so pls suggest .
