ERROR MAQUINA VIRTUAL EN ESXi

Buenas, tengo un problema después de importar una máquina virtual con
SUSE 10 de Workstation a ESXi. La importación con VMware Converter me dice que es correcta
pero cuando intento arrancar la máquina en la ESXi me da el error que
adjunto.

我在用虚拟机的时候，发现虚拟机使用串口的话会把端口一直独占着，这样导致我宿主机的另外一个程序无法使用该串口，
有没有办法能让虚拟机里的程序和宿主机的程序同时使用相同的端口的，请大家支个招，多谢了！！！

Buenas tardes.

En un nodo de un cluster ESX 3.5 me aparece el siguiente error.

~~2009-11-17 13:07:38.850 'App' 27098032 warning~~ Failed to bind heartbeat socket. Using any IP.

En la linea siguiente aparece:

~~2009-11-17 13:07:38.850 'App' 27098032 verbose~~ heartbeating 192.168.200.213 1493346:47366:31405:62815

La ip 192.168.200.213 corresponde al VC.
Por ahora no tengo ningun problema, pero no se a que se debe el error.
He revisado la documentacion que hay en la web al respecto y siempre he visto el error como sintoma de otro error mas grave.
El otro nodo no le aparece ningun error del estilo.

A alguien se le ocurre por donde pueden ir los tiros y si debo prestar atencion a dicho error.?

hda: lost interrupt

Buenas,
tenemos un pequeño problema en uno de nuestros ESX 3.5. Parece que tras la virtualización infructuosa de un equipo, la pantalla de log-in de la Service Console presenta cada 10 segundos aproximadamente, un mensaje que dice: "hda: lost interrupt". He podido observar que el dispositivo hda corresponde al CD-Rom del host ESX.

He visitado varios foros donde expresan este problema pero ninguno queda claro cómo evitar el problema.

El reinicio del host no solventa el error. Alguna idea?

No puedo conectar un ESX 2.5.2 Build 16390 a VCenter 2.5 U2

Buen día,

Un cordial saludo a todos. Tengo el siguiente inconveniente, logré agregar un ESX 2.5.2 Build 16390 a un Vcenter 2.5 U2, pero al tratar de agregar otros dos, me da este error:

"Unable to contact the specified host(xxx), This might be because the
host is not available on the network, there's a configuration problem,
or the management services on the host are not responding"

Cuando inicio el wizard para conectarlos, doy el host, usuario y clave y pasa, puedo hasta ver las VMs que contiene, me deja llegar hasta el botón Finish, y empiezo a ver el progreso de la actividad, logra instalar el agente y crea el usuario en el ESX pero casi terminando da el error que copié arriba.

Tampoco me deja conectarme con el VI Client directamente.

Le puedo llegar por ssh al servidor, me puedo conectar por web y por la antigua VMware Virtual Machine Console, le he desinstalado el agente y vuelto a instalar pero no logra conectarse, al ejecutar ps -ef | grep -i vpx obtengo:

Los de VMWARE están locos!!

He pedido precios para Virtualizar 4 servidores con un procesador (dual) cada uno y unos 8Gb de RAM. He pensado que para mi empresa no es necesario una licencia muy elevada, con una Standard tengo suficiente, por tanto he pedido precios a mi suministrador y e aquí mi susto:

Precio licencia VMWare vSphere Standard-----------------657,90€/CPU----------2.631,6€

Precio 1 año soporte obligatorio------------------------------225,63€/CPU------------902,52€

Precio licencia VCenter Server Standard-------------------4.125,90€----------------4.125,90€

Precio 1 año soporte obligatorio vCenter--------------------867€------------------------867€

Total: 8.527,02

Personalmente creo que esto es DEMASIADO, en mi caso no puedo utilizar la opción Foundation ya que solo es para 3 host y aun así tambien me parece cara. El problema no es tanto el precio de las licencias, sino que no venga incluido el vCenter (como los controlo si no??) ni tampoco el mantenimiento de al menos el primer año.

Son reales estos precios??

Creen que esto es rentable para una PYME??

Yo desde luego a estos precios seguiré utilizando ESXi.

Jeg skal lige hører om man skal tage Install and configure eller fast track for at kunne tage VCP eksamen eller kan man selv læse op til det? Så vidt jeg kunne se på vmware.com skal man, men en kollega sagde han kendte en som havde taget VCP eksamen og han mente ikke han havde været på noget kursus.

Er der nogen der kan hjælpe?

VmWare workstation не запускает винду

проблема началась внезапно(раньше вс работало прекрасно)
при попытке запустить винду появлется чёрный экранчик(а в версии 7,0 экранчик с логотипом) иииии...ничего не происходит -_- в списке висят прочессы, но они ничего не делают, при этом окно не закрывается ибо "якобы" машина используется. При создании новой винды ситуация не меняется, винда создаётся, я её запускаю чтобы начать установку дистрибудива, но всё тот же чёрный экран....а что самое страшное что я переустановил основную винду но ситуацию это не исправило....

tolto il piccolo problemino legato alla login, l'installazione e la configurazione di questo nuovo prodotto è risultata semplice e intuitiva.

Data la mia poca conoscenza del mondo backup e avendo utilizzato fino ad ora il semplicissimo vranger pro (backup su lan in quanto non mi sono mai impegnato a fondo per capire come funzionava il plugin vcb) sono abbastanza soddisfatto.

L'unica cosa che mi lascia un po' perplesso è la velocità del backup. Essendo un lan free (sia la macchina backuppata che la macchina vDR sono sullo stesso storage condiviso anche se sono gestite da hosts diversi) e visto appunto che le macchine sono connesse in fibra a 2GB mi aspettavo una velocità superiore(magari è corretta, ma vi ho detto che sono ignorante ).

Questo il report di un backup (errore snapshot che non so ancora se ha influito sul backup..domani dopo il restore vi saprò dire)

per studio del prodotto Vcenter ho provato ad installarlo su una macchina virtuale sotto wmworkstation 6.

Ma non va...

ho provato a lanciare il client di gestione sia in locale che da remoto facendolo puntare tramite ip alla macchina virtuale win 2003 senza risultato alcuno...

VMware very slow!

I am running a softaware called SAP ECC 6.0 through the VMware Workstation and the softaware is installed in my computer, but it is very lousy.
Even the mouse arrow moves slowly into the VMs window. My notebook is good, I have an intel processor 2.53hz, 4gb RAM, HD (7200 rpm).
Does anybody know how i can speed this softaware up????

My OS is windows 7 (64), and i am running windows server 2003 in the VM.

Det er begyndt at blive irriterende at når en host slukkes, så flyttes templates ikke væk og man skal så tænde host'en for at kunne deploy'e en vm.

Probleme de performance reseau

Depuis que nous avons virtualis. un DC sur ESX-I sur un HP ML 350 G5 4 Gigs Ram W3K avec un datastore raid 5 de 3 disk SATA, j'ai un probleme de performance réseau, les tranferts de download entre le serveur virtuel et physique sont bonne mais l'upload entre le physique et le virtuel sont tres passables. J'ai vérifié ma V switch et ma carte reseau virtuel, tout est configurer a 1 Gig full duplex. Ce transfert excecrable cause a Backup exec installé sur mon serveur physique un taux de transfert a 30 Mbps/min comparé a 2 serveurs physiques a 1 Gig/min, quelqu'un a une idée ???

esxi 4.0 rtl8111 падения сети

Есть следующая проблемма, есть esxi 4.0 в него добавлены драйвера http://www.vm-help.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=1272,
сетевушки увидел, все норм, но как только на них даешь нагрузку - например копируешь крупный файл, падают передергиваешь состояние: скорость\дуплекс подымаются, в материнке стоят еще два интела, поставтить еще - нет слотов...надо все четыре сетевые, кто подскажет где копать? с какой ошибкой она отпадает? и где это можно увидеть?

Привет, скачал Esx 4 171294, установил на него Server 2008 ru, и еще пару Ос.
Иногда esx почему то сам берет и вырубает ос(перезагружает), хоть включена одна хоть все 3.
период вычислить не получается.
Сервер HP ML 350 G5 6Гб озу hdd sas 2*137 Гб.
Частота перезагрузки примерно 2 раза в день.

Вторая проблемма, не могу обновить esx хост, канал 2 мбита, но через прокси. проверка проходит удачно.
А стоит начать обновлять, то ошибка сети, то что то подобное. Есть где нибудь хорошая инструкция на русскому или английском?

Можно ли поставить еще одну физическую сетевую плату, и как потом добавить драйвера в esx?

目前，在规划项目的时候，想提高性能，采用vsphere4的vmdirectpath功能，希望使得一个虚拟机能支持4GB的Qlogic 光纤卡，但看资料发现，vmdirectpath目前支持8GB的Qlogic光纤卡，没有提到支持4GB的光纤卡。VMDirectPath在一个虚拟机内支持两个qlogic 4GB的光纤卡吗？

每次XP自动更新，重新启动时，XP会假死
这时，如使用VI Client 连接到ESXi3.5，打开控制台
可以看到控制台中的屏幕是不动的，但如你在控制台中的屏幕的任何地方点一个鼠标，XP立刻出现系统BIOS加载的界面，并顺利启动到XP系统

I have found documentation on steps to change the IP for Service Console interface. How do I go about chaning the IP for the other network interfaces? (eg. DMZ, Backup LAN)

Hello all,

New member here, just checking in.

I have a brand new implementation of vSphere 4.0 Enterprise Plus + View Premier 4.0 for our medical practice coming up the weekend of December 4th.

We will be moving our 25+ servers to a VM ESX 4.0 environment located on the following hardware:

1 Dell EqualLogic PS6500X 48 port 28.8TB, 10K SAS SAN

3 Dell PowerEdge R710 servers

1 Dell PowerEdge 1950

1 Dell MD1000 5TB SAN

VMWare products (but not virtualization at the desktop level) is all new to me.

Anyone have some tips/tricks on the conversion of physical servers to virtual (including SQL servers, web servers, etc.) and the whole process?

During this transition on that weekend, I am also doing the following:

1. Changing our local domain name (from *.com to *.local - the original IT incorrectly went against best practices for domain naming at a local level).

2. Re-IP'ing onto a more simplified single subnet (currently has multiple subnets for no reason - we are fairly small).

3. Upgrading all current Windows Server 2003 x86 servers to Windows Server 2008 R2 x64

I am going to move our end users onto the VMWare View server as a second phase later on in the month or first of the year possibly.

Any tips, tricks, comments, or suggestions are warmly welcomed!

Backup solutions for vm and vmdk backups

I am curious about the various backup solutions that others are using to backup their VMs. I have evaluated vRanger (now called something different I think), looked briefly at ESXpress and Veeam backup. Have also heard many good things about Avamar as a way to backup VMs. What are some of the solutions that you are using and why did you select that solution. Any advice is appreciated.

Estou entendendo o VMware Server 2 há alguns dias, procurando
aprender mais antes de partir para uma plataforma mais complexa.
Bem, acontece que junto com a instalação do VMware Server veio
também o aplicativo Manage Virtual Networks que até agora não
descobri pra que serve nem como funciona, até tentei olhar a ajuda
no ícone que vem junto com o programa, mas não leva a lugar nenhum.
Há material voltado pra isso? Como funciona a configuração da rede virtual?

Saludos , como algunos nos paso actualice la versión de Centos 5.3 5.4 y mi Vmware dejor de funcionar , he echo los cambios en firefox con el plugind de cambiar la versión , y ok se puso a funcionar me abre la consola web , pero el problema es que cuando intento arrancar algunas de las virtualizaciones que tengo se me queda pensando y no arranca , alguna idea , gracias.

Una cosa importante antes de hacer modificaciones traslade la carpeta de las Virtualizaciones a un directorio temporal , y depues de solucionar elproblema de vmware volvi a copiar pero no funciona.

Espero que alguno se le ocurra que puede ser , por adelantado gracias.

Mam problem z infrastrukturą VDI.

Mam zainstalowany serwery:
Active Directory
Menager
Seciurity Server
vCenter

Mam również szablon maszyny wirtualnej Windows XP Pro

Na serwerze "menager" ustawione są pule desktopów i łącząc się klientem w sieci lan wszystko jest ok. Działa.
Mam jednak klienta, który chce się połączyć po WAN, i tu się pojawia problem. Klient łączy się do serwera jest możliwość wybrania puli ale później wyświetla po dłuższym zastanowieniu, że "network is busy"

Publiczny adres jest opublikowany na serwer seciurity i odblokowane są porty 443 i 80.

Co może być przyczyną błędu?

Gente buenas como estan?

Les cuento lo que me paso. Migre una Vm de un servidor con un Procesador distinto al que tenia, paso el tiempo y me pidieron que reestablezca un snapshot anterior y bueno resultado de esto este error

machine on which the checkpoint was saved. Please try to resume

the snapshot on a machine where the processors have the same

features.

La cuestion es que la solucion para esto es entrar a editar las opciones y en Avanzada tocar la parte de CPUID, El problema es que la VM esta en esatado suspendido con el Power off grisado, solamente el Play coo opcion a la cual no me ayuda porque cuando la prendo me vuelve a dar el error.

Reinice el Host y esta en el mismo estado de suspendida.

Me pueden ayudar ???

Коллеги кто ни будь их использует в продакшине (не тестовые конфигурации и пр., а именно в работе ком. предприятий)? Если да то, что используете, какие впечатления? Вопрос не праздный у нас есть IBM DS 3300 который сначала был совместим с ESX, а через некоторое время перестал таковым быть :((. Не хочется повторно на подобные грабли наступать, но и на программный SAN переходить страшно (хотели попробовать Starwind HA 5.0 но на наш запрос как его купить Starwind хранит молчание). Особенно на его некоммерческие версии типа Openfilera.

Доброго времени. Столкнулся со следующим траблом в самом начале установки гипервизора на сабжевый сервер (487503-421).
Практически сразу после чтения файлов дистрибутива (даже перед вопросом о том куда следует производить установку) появляется следующее сообщение на розовом фоне:
VMware ESXi 4.0.0 build - 171294
The system has found a problem on your machine and cannot continue.
The BIOS reports that NUMA node 0 has no memory. This problem is either caused by a bad BIOS or a very unbalanced distribution of memory modules.

И система далее не отвечает ни на какие действия, только ресет.
Конфиг сервера практически дефолтный:
Хранилище: восемь SAS-дисков. Шесть из которых в десятом raid-массиве, плюс седьмой диск как Hot Spare.
raid-контроллер типовой: P410, плюс BBWC 512 MB.
Память тоже типовая: 6 гигов (500670-B21) HP PC3-10600 ECC Unbuffered CAS 9 Dual Rank x8 DRAM

Пробовал дистрибутив ESXi c оф. сайта hp.com (билд 164009)
Пробовал обновить BIOS до последней версии.
Ничего не помогло..
Есть у кого-нибудь идеи чего можно сделать?

Есть скрипт на VBS для гостевой ОС, который настраивает основные параметры системы ..ну там принтеры, ipшники ...имя машины и прочее ))

Есть скрипт на гостевой машине, который клонирует останавливает машины клонирует, винты, запускает машины и поидее должен запускать start.bat ,который запускает все скрипты по настройке. Этому батнику нужно передать всего 1 параметр - имя машины. Синтаксис передачи параметра следующий

C:\start.bat parametr1

Подскажите плз как можно из хостовой машины запустить

Появилась задача подобрать наиболее дружественный для простого пользователя дистрибутив Linux и я остановил свой выбор на Linux Mint. ОС встала на виртуальную машину без проблем. А как дальше правильно установить VMWare Tools?
Что я сделал: Выбрал установку VMWare Tools ==> открылся диск с архивом ==> распаковал архив.

Опишите, пожалуйста, процедуру установки VMWare Tools. Если можно, то более простыми словами.

Good Day EveryBody,

I am quite new to VmWare. I am running VMWare Server Ver 1.0.6 build 91891 . what actually is happening is that after installing Windows Server 2008 R2 as a guest, the screen rendering is quite slow. i tried to install VmWare Tools. It installed all drivers except VGA driver. It fails to install VGA driver.

however, i have seen Windows Server 2008 R2 running as guest OS without any rendering issue in VmWarwe Server 2.0. Is is possible that i install VmWare Tools of VMware Server 2.0 onVMWare Server Ver 1.0.6 Build 91891.

After several years of kicking the idea around and now several months of trying, we now have an official VMware user group in Lansing. The community site is located at http://communities.vmware.com/community/vmug/us-central/lansing.

I want to introduce myself. My name is Chris Cullingford and I have volunteered to be the leader of the Lansing VMUG. I am a Technical Architect for the State of Michigan’s Department of Information Technology responsible for the design and deployment of server virtualization technology for the state.

Our first meeting will be after the first of the year. I am looking to have meetings quarterly. I am trying to secure a facility for our first meeting so we can lock in dates and speakers. Pensei em desligar as VMs e acessar via terminal e copiar os arquivos, porém, não é possivel fazer isso certo?

Já estou usando o ESXi em um servidor e agora gostaria de migrar o outro que estou usando o VMServer para linux só não descobri ainda a versão dele.
Ai fiquei com duas perguntas.

Eu consigo migrar facilmente as VMs? Por exemplo copio as VMs e importa no ESXi?
Nesse servidor eu tenho instalado uma unidade de fita DAT72 que eu uso para fazer backup, depois eu vou continuar usando normalmente? Eu consigo usar no próprio ESXI ou terei que instalar um linux / windows para usar a unidade?

Using USB harddrive in ESXi?

Hi all,

A nice shiny new server with 1TB SATA drives (RAID 5, so
not 1TB useable capacity). I have 2x1TB USB drives which were
purchased with the intent of using them for backups.

After a
rather unfortunate Windows-update related incident which put our server
out of commision for about a week whilst I troubleshot it, we have now
gone for VMWare ESXi.

Not wanting to waste the USB drives, I am looking into using them for backing up the virtual machines themselves.

Going
into the "unsupported" console via SSH and monitoring
"/var/log/messages", I can see the USB drive being detected when plugged
in. Indeed, issuing a "fdisk -l" from the SSH console shows it up
nicely. Even the virtual-file /proc/scsi/usb-storage-0/1 gives the
correct details!

So, clearly the underlying Linux system knows about the device.

How do I add it as a storage device using the Infrastructure Client?

Going
to the Configuration tab and chosing "Storage Adapters" lists the USB
Storage Controller (vmhba32), but has 0 targets. Obviously, with 0
targets it isn't going to be accessible for the other parts of the
Infrastructure Client (such as the "Add Storage..." button).

Any ideas how to make these lovely devices available for use?

I am quite happy using the Linux CLI (but I was quite shocked at just how cut down the VMWare CLI is!) if needed.

Someone suggested reading through this KB article but it's aimed at ESX rather than ESXi - with the inclusion of the "i" you lose the rather more flexible Service Console VM. I
had a poke around and there seems to be virtually no trace of a
standard Linux modules/drivers system. Indeed, it bears more resemblance to an
embedded or LiveCD environment. I have found the modules ("drivers"),
but no way to control which ones get loaded at boot-tim (which is what the KB article suggests doing from within the Service Console VM). If I
could get the USB device to be recognised nicely, I could pass it to
the Virtual Debian server and then share it via NFS... but I'm not
really sure of the consequences of backing-up a running VM onto a
device that is being shared by that very VM.

Estoy buscando una "traduccion" fiel de todos los campos del hostd.log
He encontrado varias ppts/pdf de los vmworlds, aunque le dedican poco a este log.
Mas que nada me interesa el numero, por ej.:

Ya que lo primero es la fecha del sistema, parte del sistema donde se genera el evento, el dichoso numero y de que tipo es info, warning, etc.
Y luego el mensaje.

mi problema es que tengo una serie de máqinas virtuales con S.O. RedHat que se cuelgan. Las VMs dejan de dar servicio y no responden por ssh. Si intentas conectarte a través de la consola muestra el login, pero no deja introducir la contraseña. Los logs de sistema de las VMs no muestran nada, la VM simplemente deja de funcionar. Curiosamente si responde a Ping. Estas son las características de las VMs:

Estas VMs no tiene una carga de trabajo elevada. Mi sensación es que la versión de Kernel de esta versión de RedHat nos está jugando una mala pasada. Pero hay algo que añadir, tenemos otras tantas VMs con la misma distro y kernel que no han sufrido ningún cuelgue .

La infraestructura esta formada por 20 Hosts ESX 3.5U4(176894) en un Cluster con Vcenter 2.5 U4 y almacenamiento en San FC.

¿Alguien ha pasado por problemas similares con VMs RedHat? Desde soporte aún no me han ofrecido una solución satisfactoria, ya que de momento las recomendaciones pasan por tener las Tools a la última versión....

Есть мало нагруженный физический сервер с ISA Server 2004 (доступ в интернет)

работает как фильтр доступа в интернет

у сервера два сетевых адаптера LAN и WAN , после WAN еще стоит роутер который роутит из WAN в адресацию LAN

и далее трафик идет на другой роутер который имеет реальное подключение к интернет.

Есть необходимость сделать аналог под vSphere.

Гостевая ОС будет 2003 Server, сделать виртуальных адаперов не проблема.

Но как лучше и безопаснее настрить на хосте при условии что один из свободных сетевых адаптеров ESX будет подключен напрямую в интернет (real IP)

Слышал от продвинутых людей что VmWare завляла что их технологии виртуализации позволяют безопасно "разрулить" трафик.

т.е. как я понял сетевушка реально по умолчанию НЕ привязана к ядру виртуализации этим и обеспечевается надженость/безопасность.

Просьба подтвердить или апровергнуть эту информацию или на моей реальной задаче подсказать как лучше все настроить.

Does anyone have their hands on the Gainestown (Nehalem) CPUs yet and using them in Test/Dev environments yet? We are currently an AMD shop, but looks like we may be switching if the gains are as much as everyone says they are..........

Существует такая пробема. Хостовая система Windows 7, ставлю в VMware Workstation 7 такую же Windows 7. Случайным образом зависает весь компьютер (даже мышь), спасает только ресет. При рабосте с гостевой XP такого не происходит. Что это может быть?

vi /etc/snmp/snmp.conf ......qual arquivo deve ser editado ?

Caso seja isso, o que deve ser feito após? reiniciar o serviço e esta pronto?

/etc/init.d/snmp start ?

Нашел решение для esxi 3.5 путем замены файла OEM.TGZ в дистрибутиве esxi+ _VMware-VMvisor-big-.......-x86_64.dd_+ с поледующей записью на флеш носитель, Файл находиться в партиции Hypervisor1. Делая все тоже самое для esxi4 и получаю PSOD при загрузке:

File redefined for non-file usr/share/hwdata/pci.ids

Оказывается все дело в том что OEM.TGZ в дистрибутиве esxi4 содержит всего один файл под названием {.emptytgz} размером 0 байт. Я так понимаю что архив пуст. И путь к файлам SIMPLE.MAP и PCI.IDS изменен.

Пробовал заменить файлы после загрузки оригинального образа в дериктории /etc/vmware. После перезагрузки ничего не изменилось.

Просьба сильно не пинать, с esx-ом познакомился вчера =)

Проблема с ESXI и WinX64

Вот эта схема не пашет. не удается установить гостевую X64
Если на конце X86 система, то всё идеально

He visto que en la utiidad "petool" que tiene el WindowsPE que carga el converter en frio, hay un parámetro petool --vnc . Os queria preguntar para qué sirve este parámetro y si como yo intuyo es para poder conectarse en remoto al converter cold clone y poder hacer la conversion si el servidor no tiene tarjeta de administracion remota.

Регистрация на APC Network Management Card не проходила по таймауту. Выяснилось, что всему виной firewall на vMA.

После остановки стенки регистрация прошла успешно, коммуникация агент-карта работают. Поиск по коммунити и докам к vMA по настройке стенки ничего не дал (возможно плохо искал конечно..). Вот здесь просто деактивируют iptables. Считаю это решение не совсем верным.

Посоветуйте как поступить: остановить стенку, настраивать её вручную или возможно есть утилиты самой vMA для настройки?

VM on VM構成について

WindowsのVMware Server2上にESX4.0評価版を入れてみたのですが、
ESX上でGuestOSを立ち上げると、95%程度進んだところで、ESX上のVMは
BIOS含めて立ち上がらず、さらにESXごと落ちて（停止）
以下のようなログがvmware.logに出力されます。

ESXのvmxには以下の記述はしており、Web上にも動くような記事やblogが
あるのですが、ESXの再インストール等、いろいろ試してもどうしてもうまくいきません。

なにか調べる手段は無いでしょうか？

VMware Server 2 - VM perde conexão com a rede

Pessoal, instalamos aqui na empresa o VMware Server 2.0 e temos neste ambiente algumas VMs.

Eventualmente, as VMs perdem conexão com a rede, sem nenhum motivo aparente. Após reiniciar a VM a rede volta ao funcionamento normal.

O VMware Server esta instalado em um servidor Windows Server 2003 (HP BL460C), com todas as atualizações de drivers e firmwares. Além disso, configuramos TEAM para as redes.

Alguém tem alguma idéia ?

外付けのネットワークHDDにVMWAREのデータ(vmxなど)を入れ、起動すると以下のようなエラーが発生します。

『プロセスはファイルにアクセスできません。別のプロセスが使用中ですエラー』

原因が何かおわかりになられる方はおられますでしょうか。

ネットワークに関して質問させていただきます。質問がわかりにくかったので修正しました。

VMwareの環境はdebian etchで、VM側とWindowsXP間をブリッジ接続を行いたいのですが接続できません。

VMwareのネットワーク構成はブリッジ構成を選択しております。以下がホストPC(WinXP)とゲストPC(VM)のアドレスなどになります。

補足ですが、vmxファイルで<code>Ethernet1.present = "TRUE"</code> としてネットワークI/Fを2つ使っております。

「ネットワーク設定」でデフォルトゲートウェイをeth0とし、eth0にゲストの方のアドレスを割り振っています。eth1はNAT構成になっていて、DHCPで接続しています。NAT接続もping通らないのでこの辺怪しいのかな・・・

IPアドレス：192.168.0.1　　　　　192.168.0.5

この状態でVM側で#ping 192.168.0.5と入力するとFrom 192.168.0.1 icmp_seq=3 Destination Host Unreachable

となります。この場合、どのような原因が考えられるでしょうか。

Backup e restore

Olá pessoal

Sou novo aqui na comunidade e tenho algumas duvidas sobre backup e restore com o VMware.

Dei uma olhada na documentação que fala sobre o VCB, vSphere e backup via comandos na console do ESX.

Enfim, o que eu quero saber é se dá pra fazer alguma copia manual e depois restaurar a partir dessa copia manual.

Exemplo: se eu copiar a pasta com o nome da minha VM, localizada em "/vmfs/volumes/Lun_XY/VMserver01", depois eu deleto a minha VM (acidentalmente)

ai eu copio a pasta da VM (backup) no mesmo local. Isso vai funcionar ??..Ou seja, ao carregar o VMware Infrastructure Client. vou conseguir subir a VM ??

Ciao a tutti,

mi sto avvicinando da poco al backup delle VMs.

Utilizzo per il backup delle macchine (per il momento) Vranger della vizioncore.

Ma vorrei iniziare a testare anche i "prodotti" di vmware.

Quindi dopo aver letto un po' di documentazione in giro ho deciso di partire con il backup lan free con Data Recovery.

Ho installato la macchina e configurato la rete, ma ho problemi con il login.

Sia da console sia da https non riesco a connettermi.

In realtà in https riesco a collegarmi solo con le credenziali di default (root,vmw@re) ma in console...nemmeno a parlarne.

L'utente che utilizzo per collegarmi da entrambe le parti è un utente con privilegi administrator sul vcenter.

Avete qualche idea?

Inoltre ho lanciato da poco la prova del mio primo backup, ma sono quasi 20 min che sta facendo la snapshot di una macchina ubuntu(da 5GB) è normale?

Conta qualcosa il fatto che la vm dov'è installato data recovery sia in un host fuori dal cluster che ospita la macchina incriminata?

Uso de memoria Maquina Virtual Windows Server 2003 R2 STD

Queria hacerles una consulta dado que no entiendo como asigna memoria RAM a las maquinas virtuales ESXi 4.0. Detallo 2 pantallas 1 del ESXI donde indica el uso de memoria en el Host y la otra el administrador de tareas de Windows donde indica que tiene mas memoria RAM de la que esta usando en el Host ESXi.

Como puede ser?

in einer der letzten Usergroups hatten wir das Thema ja schon mal angesprochen und da gab es einige, die die gleuichen Probleme hatten wie wir:

Der Standby Modus wird problemlos erreicht, aber man kann ihn nicht wieder verlassen.

Jetzt meine Frage in dieRunde:

Hat es inwischen einer geschafft, einen IBM x3850 bzw. x3850 M2 wieder aus seinem Dornröschenschlaf zu erwecken?

Проблемы с Distributed Switch

Столкнулся со следующей проблемой.

Есть 2-а ESX 4.0 и vCenter 4.0 (работает на vm). Настроил DVS и мигрировал все vm с Standard Switch на DVS. В том числе и vCenter. Всё замечательно работало около месяца без проблем. Но в выходные был вынужден выключить все ESXы и vCenter. После включения все vm загрузились, но потеряли link со своими vnic.

Был вынужден создать Standard Switch, после чего удалось восстановить соединение vm с сетью.

Вопрос: может ли работать DVS при загрузке ESX`ов без vCenter?

Problemas consola remota Vmware server 2

Hola a todos , en la maquina tengo instalado Vmware Server (última versión) y una máquina virtual con xp .

El caso es que al actualizar a la última versión de Ubuntu en la maquina virtual el ratón ni el teclado responden bien, hacen
cosas raras.

Esto pasó al actualizar el ubuntu , probé lo siguiente sin resultados:

Actualizar / reinstalar la vmware tools.
Actualizar a la última versión de Vmware Server.
Actualizar el hardware de la máquina virtual, tenía la 4 y ahora es la 7.

Si se os ocurre algo , lo agradecería.

Til orientering!

Jeg har hørt at dette program skulle kunne løse en del problemer mht. til USB på ESX: http://www.usb-over-network.com/. Det kræver selvfølgelig at man har en fysisk PC/server stående, som man tilslutter sine USB enheder til og som derfor optræder som USB server.

Måske der er nogen der kan bruge den løsning....

HP ProLiant ML115 G5 on VMware ESXi 4.0でHDDの書き込みが異常に遅い

初めまして。
VMware ESXi 4.0 をUSBメモリ（JetFlash 2GB)にdd for windows で書き込んで
ML115 G5に挿してUSB起動しています。
内蔵HDDは
250GB ノンホットプラグハードディスクドライブ(Serial ATA) 411276-B21
を4台乗せています。
メモリは4GB積んでいます。この状態で正常にESXi 4.0が動作しているのですが
ただ1点だけ、どうしても解決できない事があり、ご教示頂けたらと思い投稿致します。

■現象
HDDの書き込み速度が異常に遅い

ゲストOSをWindowsやLinux等インストールして、HDDの書き込み速度をはかると
7MB/s 程度しか出ません。読み込み速度に関しては130MB/s程度出るため高速です。

測定方法は、Windowsの場合はhdbench等のフリーソフト、Linuxは
読み込み # hdparm -t /dev/sda
書き込み # dd if=/dev/zero of=./test bs=1M count=1024

で測定しております。

ESXiのunsupportedシェルからssh接続を有効化して、sshで接続して直接
ddコマンドを実行しても遅いです。

HDDの構成ですが、4台のSATA HDDを単体で使っております。
オンボードRAIDはESXiが認識しませんでした。

USBメモリからの起動をやめて、SATA HDDからの起動でテストしても
同じく書き込みだけ低速でした。

ためしに物理OSをインストールして測定したところ、書き込み速度 70MB/s程度
出ました。

ネットで調べたりゲストOS(Linux)の出力するメッセージを読んでいると、どうも
書き込みキャッシュが無効になっている模様です。

この現象を解決する方法をずっと探っているのですが、どうしても解決しません。
どなたか何か方法をご存知ないでしょうか？

ML115 G5のBIOSは最新版です。

足りない情報などございましたら提示致しますので、
どうかご教示よろしくお願いいたします。

vmdkファイルの移設方法

こんにちわ

”やっちまった”状態に陥りまして、救済策がないものかお尋ねします。

環境：　ホストOS Win Vista
VMWare Player 2.5.1 ゲストOS FedoraCore10

やっちまった：
　　　　　FC10を11にyum upgradeして、依存関係にひっかかり、該当パッケージをyum deleteとしたら700以上のパッケージが依存関係にあり同時に削除された。
　　　　　再起動すると、もう起動しない。

　　　　　深夜に半分うつろな状態で操作したのが間違いでした。

救済したいこと：
　　　　　１．現状回復したい
　　　　　２．せめて、vmdkディスクを、新規のゲストOSで使えるようにしたい(マウント?)したい

方法、アドバイスなどどうぞお願い致します。

vCenter4 in dominio nt4

Salve a tutti,

sto pianificando un'aggiornamento a vsphere4 in un azienda che ha Nt4 come dominio, e' possibile utilizzare vCenter4/ADAM in questo ambiete?..

Se non ricordo male AD e' un requisito per l'utilizzo di vCenter4

windows customization resources not found on the server

Tengo vsphere con vcenter , y estoy venga realizar pruebas y no consigo desplegar una nueva maquina virtual basandome en una plantilla, en el asistente me da dice:

windows cutomization resources not found on the server

Y aparece todo desabilitado.

He descargado el sysprep y he probado en dejarlo en varias rutas distintas, probando a ver en cual funciona, pero.... de momento en ninguna me ha funcionado:
