A quick update. When using the beta 4 or 4.1 it is lnk files that fail to lauch from Unity. If I start the exe directly, it will then show up in the Launcher list, and can be re-launched at will. Hope this helps.

Is it that the Launcher window is always empty, or do apps show up there but nothing happens when you click them?

Actually see both conditions, but can't seem to find a set of conditions that will force the dialog to lose the information.
Yeah, the problem where all the View menu options are grayed out when there are no Unity windows and nothing selected in the Launcher is understood and will be fixed.

I don't know about the launch failure issue; please do file an SR. Is it that the Launcher window is always empty, or do apps show up there but nothing happens when you click them?

Unity not working with Boot Camp

I have re-created the Boot Camp guest 3 times, but not once have I been able to launch an application from the Fusion menu. Application launched from the guest display correctly. There is an error message in the log file, which I have extracted here. The entire log is attached to the post. Guest is Windows XP Pro + SP2 running in Boot Camp 1.2.

Log extract:
Jun 17 13:46:26.848: vcpu-0| TOOLS call to unity.shell.open failed.
Jun 17 13:46:26.848: vcpu-0| VMXVmdbOpenGuestFileCB: failed: ret = VMDB failure
The log has been run with debugging information on. Also the UI goes wrong with no options being displayed to get back to non-Unity views (see attached screen capture). Clicking on the entry in guest list restores it. A clean Windows install using the new setup wizard works as expected both with Unity launching applications, and no UI issues.
