You may want to update your Workstation to the latest 5.x version (currently 5.5.9, I believe) and see if it resolves any of your issues.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;p /&gt;
Also, check the user rights/permissions on the VM's folder and files.  Workstation requires read/write/execute for the vmx file, read/write for the other files and the folder.</description>

      <title>Problem with VMWARE RHEL - WINXP</title>

I am currently working with RHEL 4 I intalled vmware 5 using WinXP professional as guest OS , I have a problem with vmware, but I can not see clearly how can I solve (I am a new vmware  user ), I see in log files the following output: &lt;br /&gt;
&lt;p /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
vmware.log&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;p /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Unable to continue without a UI.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;p /&gt;
&lt;ul&gt;

&lt;ul&gt;
&lt;li&gt;attempt to put segment in horiz list twice&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;/ul&gt;
&lt;/ul&gt;
&lt;/ul&gt;

The application 'vmware' lost its connection to the display localhost:1.0;&lt;br /&gt;
most likely the X server was shut down or you killed/destroyed&lt;br /&gt;
the application.&lt;br /&gt;

I think the problem is related to  "Jul 03 09:55:28: vmui| VMHSCbUtilFileLs failed: File not found&lt;br /&gt;
(/root/vmware/Windows XP Professional/Windows XP Professional.vmx)"  this file exist in the platform,  is possible that exist any missconfiguration?, you have had any similar experience with this problem? &lt;br /&gt;
