Yes, I ried that all, removed all Serial and Parallel ports, USB devices, no way.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;p /&gt;
But now I've solved the problem after I tried out all  disk controller settings and with the "SCSI LSI Logic" it works now  &lt;img class="jive-emoticon" border="0" src="http://communities.vmware.com/images/emoticons/grin.gif" alt=":D" /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;p /&gt;

I can't choose the OS to boot in safe mode, because it depends before, right after the Bios screen.&lt;br /&gt;

I decrased the partition now with a partition tool on the physical computer so I don't have to do this with the converter and this can excluded as problem.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;p /&gt;
So I tried now with a 1:1 image with the converter but the problem still exists.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;p /&gt;
&lt;p /&gt;
Bios screen comes up and then the os hang directly after the Bios screen, no error and nothing in the log file  &lt;img src="http://communities.vmware.com/images/emoticons/shocked.gif" alt="http://communities.vmware.com/images/emoticons/shocked.gif" class="jive-image"  /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;p /&gt;
&lt;p /&gt;
Attached are the log files from the converter job and  the vmware.log, the vmx, vmdk and vmxf files.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;p /&gt;

The Hardware is a  HP Desktop dc7700 CMT  1.86 GHz Core 2 Duo 1GB Ram with Win2K3 R2 SP2.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;p /&gt;
 The only thing I change in the Converterjob is to shrink the disk from 74GB to 20GB because only 15GB were used.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;p /&gt;
I will try it now without shrinking the destination disk even if that really should work.</description>

Because if I enable the "force BIOS next boot" flag I can enter the Bios.&lt;br /&gt;

      <description>No BIOS screen? So you even don't see the Windows selection screen when you press F8 during the boot?&lt;br /&gt;
if you don't see the BIOS screen that is independent from the guest, migrated or not.&lt;br /&gt;

I converted with the Converter Standalone Client 4.01.&lt;br /&gt;

I don't have any error, only a black screen, no bios screen, nothing  &lt;img src="http://communities.vmware.com/images/emoticons/sad.gif" alt="http://communities.vmware.com/images/emoticons/sad.gif" class="jive-image"  /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;p /&gt;
It looks like the console can not handle the resolution 720x400.&lt;br /&gt;

 I'ce converted no a Win2003 server and can't boot it with ESX 4.&lt;br /&gt;

It looks like the problem is with the graphic card and the resolution (VNCENCODE 2 encoding mode change: (720x400x16depth,16bpp,1440bytes/line) &lt;br /&gt;
&lt;p /&gt;
but I don't know how I can change the resolution manually.&lt;br /&gt;
