Thanks for the reply, it was helpful. I was wondering if anyone has had any success installing ESX 3.5 on a SuperServer model 6035B-8R with the on-board controller or another SCSI controller card?I saw advertised for my server a compatible card called Supermicro Low-Profile All-in-One Zero-Channel RAID Card (AOC-LPZCR2) and I was wondering if anyone tested this card?

This adapter doesn't support Hardware Raid, HostRaid is more of software level raid

I don't believe ESX supports the Software RAID for these cards and thus your seeing them as individual drives - some links below
Hello,

I am trying to install ESX 3.5 update 3 on a SuperServer model 6035B-8R
which is listed in the compatibility guide. The problem we are having is that
when we are installing the software, ESX does not see the RAID, it only sees
the individual drives. The SCSI (HostRAID) controller is the Adaptec AIC-7902
Controller which is also listed in the HCL. Has anyone found a solution to this problem? Thanks,Paul
