It is "almost" working perfect.. there's a LOT more emails now. Unfortunately it isn't perfect.
This thread here 3D Acceleration on Intel X3100 for which i had signed up to receive notifications on has not send me the reply from starche

edit: It looks very good after a few days... there's lot more replies that I appear to get now. There's suddenly even replies from old threads.
Hopefully we can close the book on this issue forever Thanks for staying on top of this.

The patch for email notifications has been deployed, so email notifications should be functioning correctly now.

That is great news Rober. Thanks for following up on this one that even though it only appeared to effect a small number of users.

As for my previous reply, I am getting more notifications. However, I am definately not get all of them. I just wanted to point out that the situation appeared to be improving.

The fix for email notifications not being sent is scheduled for Friday, January 16. I'll post again when the fix has been deployed.

Hello all. I would like to point out that I seem to be receiving notification emails fairly regularly after returningfrom my Christmas/NewYear vacation. Has anyone else noticed an improvement?

We have a year-end system freeze for SOX compliance, so I cannot deploy this fix until late in January. I will update here when the deployment is scheduled.

Umm... I'm sorry to bring this up again, but it doesn't look like it is fixed.
I did not get any of the notification emails on this thread from WoodyZ or etung Re: Windows XP Hangs at Boot If Restarted in VM
Everything in the thread is past the "fix"-date... so that didn't cut it

I have four pages of notifications displaying today - which is more like it

I guess old (or answered) ones just drop off after a certain time - is that right?
(I've certainly watched more threads than that in total).

I guess that the problems with the cache refresh is another (or related?) known issue?

Hiya,

I was just checking on my VMTN profile.

I clicked on the "email notifications" tab and was surprised to only see five items (all for threads that I have posted on today)

There is no filter set that I am aware of, I was expecting to see literally hundreds of items....

Does this tab only ever show the last days info - or is this a separate (or related?) issue to the lack of VMTN emails recently?

Thanks for the reminder about this, Wil. I have a fix, but it hasn't been implemented yet, because I need to schedule the deployment of the fix with our IT department.

For those interested, the root cause is a threading issue that has only affected one other Jive customer besides VMware. A shared resource is used to store the request to send the email notification, and it was getting occasionally overwritten before the notification is sent. Jive gave us patch that locks the shared resource until the message is sent.

I may need to bundle this fix with another fix that will enable some new functionality. And this is Thanksgiving week (Thursday & Friday holiday) in the US, so I may not be able to get this implemented immediately. I'll post again when the patch is live.

The only way I noticed it was having another reply, was because it got bumped up in the group by that reply...

Hey Robert, I think I spoke to soon. I am still getting some notifications, I received a notification of this reply and wila's reply to this thread. Also my email notification page has returned to what it should be(many pages long). But for example in the congrats pres obama thread I am only receiving some replies.

Hey Robert, I am not sure if you have made any changes as of yet, but last night I received notification on 2 fairly old threads that I had subscribed to. Also I added a watch to a thread about 20 minutes ago and have been receiving updates to it. This is the first time that this has happened since the update. Hopefully it means the issue is being/ has been resolved.

There's more wrong as just a delay, again... no notification email for your reply... it looks like - in the case of the problematic threads- I only get notifications if the Original Poster is answering. So not if someone else answers to the same thread in case of the problems. Quite useless as you want to know what goes on in a thread, not just a reply from the OP.
The same issues appears to happen here: Re: Commercial Use?
It doesn't happen with all threads, so it is not consistent throughout the forums.

I have a similar but unrelated issue, I have watches on individual forums, and am seeing some very odd behaviour,

I am receiving answers to posts before I have even received the original question post. there appears to be a delay in sending out mails from one or more of the nodes servicing the forums.

So am I, but it is not obvious that you are missing out on some of the email notifications when it is only for a few of them. Replying on email notifications is the most convenient way of keeping upt o date with your open topics/questions you have replied to. There's way too much traffic on the site to keep up with it all without that feature.

Hey Wil. I understand the development cycle, it is still a bummer though At any rate it looks like were going to have to wait until the next update to see this resolved. I am just suprised that more people haven't replied to this thread. I am sure other people are experiencing this.

Robert(RDellimmagine) replied to a couple other threads in the feedback forum so I was expecting him to reply to this thread but no luck. I am sure he is aware of this issue though.

Well before the last update I never had problems with my email notifications. It's a typical case of "fix one thing here, break something else there" as is pretty common in the software development cycle, it is still annoying though as sometimes people expect you to reply and you didn't just because there was no notification.
It happens on quite a few threads and "receive notifications" is always checked, it doesn't matter. It appears to be random, don't think there's much we can do besides reporting the specific thread that doesn't work for us. Send Off a pm to RDellimmagine with some example threads, but didn't even get a reply ...

Hey Wil, I expected it was still a problem for others because I am definately still having trouble. There must be something up take a look at the following attachment, it shows a thread I started last week 'Random 404's' and under the actions section it states that I should be receiving notifications with the line 'Stop email notifications'. However when I check my profile-email notifications I only have the noticifications that I added today.

Anyways I hope this issue is resolved quickly.

Yes, I do see that problem on a number of posts, in fact I didn't get a notification on your reply to Please display the full post or at least the last five or ten answers while inside the "post reply" form in this group for example..
I had already reported it a couple of times since the update, but it still happens

Is anyone else not receiving notifications that threads have been updated? I know it was a problem immediatly following the update, but I thought it had been resolved. I have notifications turned on for a number of threads and will post a pic about one thread imparticular.
