Thanks for the reply.What do you really mean by IDs , is it what you find by typing 'lspci' ?&lt;br /&gt;

So you can see that its failing to load the NIC , i have tried installing another external NIC m but the same error. It does say that it has sucessfulyy loaded the drives for NICs.&lt;br /&gt;

Is anyone running ESXi 3.5 on HP Proliant DL140 G1 ? Im having problem installing it as it sayd it cant find a suppoerted device to install . I have 2 IDE drives.&lt;br /&gt;

I managed to change a configuation  file so that it works on IDE getting help from here :&lt;br /&gt;
