Ya know...That's exactly how I pictured it. I haven't been on a Big Wheel since 1976 and my kids never had one. I can try this on my daughter's old tricycle, but I think I already broke it riding on the back...

Vegas is pretty flat, it's probably going to be a race around a track. I had a big wheel as a kid way back in the 70's. Here's some good pics of them....

Does Vegas have many hills for this sort of event? I've never been, but I've always imaged it being quite flat.

We do it at work every year for charity. You get a team, the team gets a Big Wheel, you have a week to modify it, then you race.

Apparently you have never seen him on the stage, live. I saw it, I would recommend it as one of the top shows to go see! It's a GREAT show, he is really funny. He does props, so maybe he isn't funny as comedian, but he puts on a VERY good show. It's worth it. Don't knock it until you see him..

I saw him in college, and he was a riot... He didn't look like he does now.

It's been about 7 years, hard to get away to Vegas once you get married and have kids. The roller coaster was pretty lame.

Looks like they removed the roller coaster from the top and added the Insanity and X-scream rides.

When was the last time you have been in Vegas? The X Scream rides have been there for at least 4 or 5 years. The roller coaster was boring, just went around a circle, not much thrill there. The building top isn't big enough in circumference to make a roller coaster worth it, but the X-Screams are really cool. Especially the one that drops you off the edge of the building...

Another is Penn and Teller and the best Show (besides Cirque) is Lance Burton at the Mirage. That to me is the BEST show on the strip.

Yes, there is a Shopping Mall north of Venetian called the Fashion Show mall, it's within walking distance (but then everything on the main strip is). I am sure that's probably where she can spend a good bit of time.

Of course EVERY hotel has things to do and see.... She won't have ANY trouble. Just give her the ATM...

It's about 250' Give or Take! Take the bridge..:)

When you arrive at the hotel, you have to Pass the Venetian, so you will see it. The Venetian is the largest hotel / casino in the world.. so I don't think you will have any trouble figuring out which one it is..

Well, I tried to get on as a speaker... But my topic wasn't interesting enough, I guess.

Next time, I'll just make up some story about how I got 192 VM's on a single quad core box with 2GB of RAM. Then they can do a case study on me.

The last I have heard is that it will hit the shelves on Aug 25th and the book store should be getting some. None of us have gotten any copies yet so this is all I know right now. I think we are also scheduled for a book signing at VMworld but I do not know the date yet

Signed up, schedule's created. Staying acroos the street at Treasure Island. I actually got picked for a breakout on VCB. AND... My company has a booth, so I gotta man that too. Sunday afternoon arrival, Thursday red-eye out :o( Is there going to be a VI3Book signing party anywhere? I think US Scare-ways will charge me an extra $20 if I bring THAT book on board...

This will be VMWorld #2 for me. Staying at the Venetian. Various posts have uncovered much of the theme of the VMWorld party at the speedway, but nobody's figured out who the entertainment is yet. Any ideas? I figure they'll get a band or some sort of performance group (or both) on a stage out there.

Well there's definitely plenty to choose from, depends on how much you want to spend and how far you want to walk. I got a really good rate at the Venetian. If you're a thrill junkie you can always try the Statosphere, I rode the Big Shot a few years ago and it was kquite a trip..

May want to check the registration page again. I was able to signup for sessions already, but maybe it is different for partners. Also, does anyone know what the 'main event' is at the VMworld party on Wednesday?
