So far I've tried the following:<br /> <br /> Win XP SP 3 (trial) - sound card was detected automatically by the host OS, however the activation expires after 30 days. Fresh installation from an OEM version.<br /> <br /> Win XP 2008 64 bit (pre-configured desktop etc) - sound card does not work.<br /> I tried to install the original drivers by:<br /> 1. From VM Ware settings updated Specify host adapter to C-Media Wave Device (which is the sound card driver on the Guest OS)<br /> 2. The hostOS detected the sound card as requiring the driver to be installed.<br /> 3. I tried installing them using windows (auto detect) and using the original drivers that usually work (unsuccessfully)<br /> <br /> Ux host OSs i.e. Kubuntu, Red Hat Fedora - no sound; drivers probably not available <br /> <br /> Driver on guestOS: C-Media PCI Device<br /> Sound card: Creative Labs 5.1 SB-0220 (old one!)<br /> <br /> Has anyone encountered similar problems?
