      <description>You cannot directly use linux drivers for this. But if you look at the "Sata, clear as mud" article above then there's a PCI list which includes ICH8 so chances are that it works as quite a few drivers are already included. &lt;br /&gt;
You might have to follow the process down there on editing a config file. I haven't tried it down here myself.&lt;br /&gt;

Thanks for tips I will try the network install but if its not detecting/loading the I/O devices drivers then how will the install process will continue.&lt;br /&gt;

BTW its ICH8 any one have its drives for linux?</description>

On the ESX Server installation CDROM, there's a file called &lt;b&gt;boot.iso&lt;/b&gt; in the &lt;b&gt;/images&lt;/b&gt; directory.  If you burn this to a CD and boot your machine from it, you can install ESX from an FTP or HTTP server.  Just copy the /VMware directory off of the install CD to your FTP / HTTP server and you're good to go.&lt;br /&gt;

One of the questions is what sata chipset actually is used on your 965RY mboard. Is it a ICH6/ICH7/ICH8/something else?&lt;br /&gt;

      <description>I am trying to install esx server 3.5 on intel 965ry mobo but when the setup ask me to choose the installation method and I choose local cdrom then it prompt me for its drivers. I dont know which driver should I supply to it, can someone help me?&lt;br /&gt;

My another question is about 965 sata drives support does esx 3.5 support it?&lt;br /&gt;
