The 64-bit fix seems to have been applied in Fusion 2.0b1, yay. Not so the hgfs version mismatch, however.

The following DO work for my Solaris Nevada b87 guest in 2.0b1, after upgrading the tools and restarting X:

Auto desktop resize when resizing guest window
Copy and paste between Nevada + OSX
Drag and drop Nevada -> OSX (but not the other way-- gives me a "can't write to virtual machine" alert)

Have you looked at try to get http://open-vm-tools.sourceforge.net/ to work?

It is my understanding that the developers are aware of the issue, however it is further my understanding that it is VMware policy is to not comment on unannounced features, timelines, products, etc. so until they decide to announce something it's a wait and see...

Maybe Mufassa's reply in Problem compiling vmmemctl module after hitting Fedora 8 update button may offer some help with open-vm-tools.

I know every bug can't be fixed, but I was disappointed that 1.2 does not address either
of the 2 problems we have with more recent builds of OpenSolaris and Fusion.

The 4 minute boot problem when booting 64-bit (instead of 32-bit) is no big deal - I don't
really need a 64-bit kernel in my desktop virtual machine, but the hgfs version issue
is a real show-stopper - we lose drag-and-drop, cut-and-paste between OS X and
OpenSolaris.

Any estimates on these fixes going in?

Thanks,
