EXCELLENT THANK YOU.

All up and working.

I am guessing if I want to use VPN Tracker as my one VPN client I need to use NAT as well so I think I will just leave both clients configured for NAT unless I find an issue.

Many thanks again.

This is the first real use I have made of Fusion other than demoing my companies software.

However I converted my Parallels VM yesterday and will now try VMware as my main VM solution.

When using NAT the Host and Guest can communicate directly because the Host has a Virtual Network Adapter (vmnet8) that is on the same Subnet and packets initiating in the Host get routed through that adapter however packets being sent from another machine on a different subnet do not get routed through that adapter and should not as it would defeat one of the security aspects of separate NATed Networks.

Is the XP Virtual Machine also a Guest on the same Host as the Linux Guest and if so have you tried setting the XP Network to NAT which would put it in the same Subnet?

Hi

Thanks that now works but unfortunately causes other problems.

It means the IP address will always be changing and it is the only way I can access this VM.

Is there no way to make the XP VM access the other VM on the static IP address?

If the Mac can access it SURELY the Windows XP Box should be able to also?

Yes it does help and it shows that the Linux Virtual Machine is using a NATed VMware Network and if you change it to Bridged so the XP Virtual Machine and the Linux Virtual Machine are on the same Subnet then they should be able to communicate assuming there are not any Firewall restrictions on either of the Virtual Machine's or the OS X Host.

Hmmm

I am not sure how much additional information is actually relevant?

I am running Fusion 1.1.1 on a MacBook Pro running 10.5.2.

I have two VM's.

One running a VERY cut down version of Linux and no VMware additions (cannot be added to this VM) and one running Windows XP

Both VM's have Internet connectivity and both VM's can access web pages on the Mac.

HOWEVER as per my earlier post the XP VM cannot access the Linux VM which is running a web based application.

I know the IP address of the Linux VM which is 172.16.172.130 which the Mac browsers can access fine.

However from the Windows XP VM putting this IP address comes back with an error message Internet explorer cannot display the web page!!!!!

IP address of the Mac is 192.168.1.71 and of the Windows XP VM is 192.168.1.73

Does any of that help?

Hi

I need to be able to demonstrate some business software to clients on line.

To do this I need to fire up a Linux VM which is running the software and access this software via a browser.

I can successfully access the VM via a browser on my Mac but cannot seem to connect to the same address from a browser running in my Windows XP 'work' VM.

I am running in Bridged Network mode.

Any ideas please, this is critically important to me.
