Windows XP running under Fusion does not have direct access your host's video card. In a virtual machine, the virtual video card is a virtualized card with a subset of the host video capabilities. The virtual machine video card will never match what the real host card is this is why the Nvidia drivers don't install. VMware provides their own accelerated video drivers as part of the VMware Tools, so it's important to install those.

As for the OpenGL call, currently Fusion implements DirectX 8.1 (in 1.0) and experimental DirectX 9 support (in 1.1b1). Full OpenGL capabilities are not present.

VMware monitors these forums and they are aware of user's needs. Your request here counts as a small informal vote on OpenGL. Plus competitors are looking to differentiate themselves from VMware on this feature.

IMAC NVIDIA Driver download problems

I have the 24 IMAC with 1.1Beta Fusion loaded and XP PRO. When loading games I receive the following warning in my virtual window: "GLW_StartOpen GL () could not load OpenGL subsystem." I believe this is a driver download issue for my NVIDIA Geforce 7300 GT video card inside my XP virtual window with Fusion 1.1. Can anyone help? Everytime I go to the NVIDIA website for downloads while inside the virtual window I receive an "incompatable hardware warning." HELP.. NOGEEK am I.
