Okay, i installed fusion step by step everything went fine. Then I began the Easy Install of Windows through the Windows xp home edition installation disk. Two minutes into it an error screen came up on the virtual computer screen telling me to restart the computer. I shut down the virtual computer. When I restarted it all I get is a black screen with one white dash. No explanation, no idea how to complete my installation. There is an attachment with what is on my desktop. Please give me some advice or at least an explanation. VMware offers support but only through e-mail that could take forever!!! I started the process but i would appreciate it if someone could assist me.

I have Virtual Windows XP Pro on a 2 GH Mac Mini, with 2 GB of memory. I am running XP thru VMWare Fusion. Will "Dragon Speaking Naturally 10" work on my system?

Nov. 16:
I finally reached Nuance with my question and they said 'Dragon' WILL NOT WORK with virtual Windows XP. Sorry it took me so long to think of answering my own question on this website. Pondurenga

Hi, I just bought a MacBook Pro but since have always been a PC user and all my programs are in PC, bought the VMWARE Fusion. I managed to install that onto my MacBook, but have been unsuccessful in uploading the Windows Vista-32 bit. Does one need to be connected to the internet to install windows on the IMAC? I open a virtual window and go through the steps and put in the Windows disc when it asks but then it says "operating system not available" Also, does the VMWARE Tools need to be installed first? I have been unable to do that as well? Please help.

I have a work situation where images have been created in vmware 5.5 I can transport the images on my portable usb drive home where I have vmware fusion 1, work on them, bring them back to work and everything is fine.
The question is, if I upgrade to vmware fusion 2 at home, which will want to 'upgrade' the images, are they still going to continue to work in the vmware workstation 5.5 environment?

Thanks

clarkalex, you can use your Workstation 5.5 VM with Fusion 2 without any problem. Just do NOT upgrade the VM with Fusion 2 if you want to keeping using it with Workstation 5.5 as well.

Hi, am running snow leopard (installed last week) and the latest version of vmware fusion (although not the public beta) and have a Virtual machine of XP with SP3. This afternoon XP hung horribly, and no commands through VM Ware fusion would persuade it to reboot. Even Snow Leopard would not quit as it was prevented by fusion. I confess I got pissed and pulled the battery (i know). Anyway to cut a long and rather dull story short, I now cannot boot XP. I get the message "File not found - Windows XP Professional - 000004.vmdk" - What can I do to resolve this? I have installed the latest updates for Snow Leopard and also the latest public beta for VMWare fusion, but to no avail.....Help

I see that you are not logging on as much as you used to but I've read your posts and can actually understand them. The problem is I don't see the solution to my issue... Any help would be appreciated.

I use VM to support XP on my Mac. It recently froze because I was out of memory. I discovered that I have ~ 60Gb of segmented files; each with about 2Gb

Windows XP Professional - s001.vmdk
Windows XP Professional - s002.vmdk
Etc. up to 034

How do I delete the dupes or other data embedded in these separate files to clean up memory. I know it is VM Fushion related and not underlying XP data. Thanks.
