Will do. As for that site i've found a couple of those calendars. Unfortunately, the oldest data I've been able to find in them is from November 8th 2008. I'll start up a list when I get to work tomorrow.
vSphere VI Client Display Language
Hello,

I had the same problem and i´ve tested the following commandline:

vpxclient -locale en (now the vsphere client is english)

vpxclient -locale de (now the vsphere client is german)

It would be nice feature to add a small language-dropdown (same like use windows session credentials)
Well that's 3 votes out of 3 for using Hyperthreading. I appreciate all the answers. However, I just have one question. Does anyone have a link to a paper/guide where it states to use Hyperthreading in Oracle? If not that's fine I will go with the best practice but it would be nice to have the paper! Again I thank you all.
Most forum points in a week

I thought those large numbers came from posters uploading informative documents (not necessarily links to documents) or procedures and getting points for the amount of people that access it.

I'm pretty sure the point system does not reward documents, no matter how highly rated or widely read. The document I linked to makes no mention of points for documents, and my own experience bears this out (I wrote a number of the most widely read docs on these forums, but I'm pretty sure I earned all my points via posts and correct/helpful awards). The point system certainly can't take into account the informative sites that a number of the top posters maintain on their own, outside of the forum.

Although points are a fine general indicator of knowledge/participation, focusing on points makes the community worse off because the points system rewards behaviors that don't help and does not reward behaviors that do.

vRanger Pro
The document centers around VMs in an ESX cluster. In this case, VC is required to determine the "owner" of the VM before the snapshot is taken. You could certainly direct this to an ESX server instead of VC. The client is not really needed for VCB to function. When you configure VCB the config.js would need a hostname of either the VC or an ESX server. If you use vRanger, you don't really need to edit the config.js file. vRanger will want the info for VC and all of the ESX servers involved.

If you do not have a vCenter server then the vRanger and VCB backup processes will communicate with the ESX server(s) involved. If you are clustering your ESX servers, then the communications will need to go through the vCenter server.

Hey all as I am sure some of you are aware it has been reported that Mendel Rosenblum has resigned from VMware. As others speculated it appeared to be just a matter of time until he resigned as EMC fired his wife. It will be interesting to see how this gets spun in the media. Anyways here are some links to stories on the subject.
ESXi CDROM issue
Hey Dave. After digging around a bit more ive found this to be a limitation of ESXi as per another thread. http://communities.vmware.com/message/1027361#1027361 the last post mentions it.

I'll just go with your suggestion and add ISO's to the datastore.

Cheers
Customization Specifications Custom Network Setup Error
Sorry I didnt do extensive testing with Mcafee as we dont use it very much. We mainly use Trend and occasionally Norton. However I can tell you that I tried to disable Norton prior to making my template and I ran into the same issues. I had to completely uninstall the program in order to have our customization scripts run. You could try disabling Mcafee but I am not sure that it would work. Other than that you could automate the install to run after your done with preping the system.

Isilon and the HCL for 3.5
Hello. Just a heads up for anyone with Isilon storage. After doing some further investigation it appears that Isilon and VMware are testing now and the devices should be on the HCL sometime in August. Also the reason it is not on the HCL this time around is that VMware changed their storage stack, so all storage providers needed to re-qualify their devices.

Hope this is of some use to people out there.
