Hey Matt -

Just curious, whats the bug that is stopping you from changing the disc size in the 1st place??

Regards...

I didn't think I was crazy but it always helps to get a second opionion. I went back to the storage team, they promised everything was right, they checked again and realized they didn't mask the host correctly.

So, they won't be seen yet.

Thank you,

I'm having the same problem when trying to deploy templates, or when trying to perform a migration and move the guest files to a new datastore. Also I get the same error when trying to svmotion a guest to a new datastore. It's very confusing because the error message is not very detailed.
CIM Evolution / Reliability
How's people getting on with the Hardware monitoring in Virtual Center? While I understand the technology, I'm still finding it to be unreliable. For example, I am sitting staring at a DL585 with a faulty DIMM. HP Insight tells me it's faulty. Virtual Center does not. No wonder I lose confidence, and will steer clear of ESXi until it matures.

OK, so apparently it looks like there is a bug in the code that put the switches into a broken mode where they were sending traffic through the channeling port instead of the through the normal configuration. We are waiting to hear back from the analysts on this, and potentially with newer code. This stuff is so new that there aren't any upgrades and we can' t roll back, this is the only code so far.

Good Times!
Changing the HP EVA VCS version removes access to LUNS
Initially, the environment was a number of ESX 3.0.2 servers connected to an EVA with VCS code version 3.

Multiple VMFS3 volumes exist and contain virtual machines.

The entire environment was shutdown to perform the VCS code upgrade to version 4.

Following the upgrade, the ESX servers can't see the LUNS although if you add new storage they are made available to be formatted from scratch.

To fix this issue I've changed the LVM.disallowsnapshotlun setting from the default value of 1 to 0.

Now everything is back, but I'm not 100% comfortable with this.

Does changing the VSC code right something to the volumes which identify them differently to ESX?

Any thoughts would be welcome.
