vMotion on same subnet but different VLAN

One of the reasons I am in IT is because at times a question will be posed to you that makes you go back to basics in order to find out the right solution. So, the other day I was in a similar situation. We were trying to stand up a very small environment for internal use and as we were trying to give our requirements to the networking team, an interesting question came up.
